Who We Are

The George and Margaret McLane Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that was established in 2011 by the estate of Wilhelmina McLane in accordance with her wishes.  The trustee of the Foundation is Jim Wellinghoff.  The tabs to the left link visitors to information about some of the organizations which receive support from the McLane Foundation.

Mission Statement

The George and Margaret McLane Foundation is committed to building community and improving people's lives by supporting organizations that:
  • Prepare children for success in school and college readiness, helping them meet their education and career goals.  In keeping with the wishes of Wilhelmina McLane, each year the McLane Foundation awards  scholarships to worthy graduates of Franklin High School. 
  • Strive to enrich people’s lives through creative arts and the humanities. 
  • Protect and advance the lives of people in vulnerable populations. 
  • Promote the welfare of animals, no-kill shelters, spay/neuter programs, and cruelty prevention.
